The Council Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa today presented cheques to beneficiaries of the Year 2024 Students’ Bursary Award.
Speaking at the occasion, Hon. Olowa listed the achievements of his administration in the education sector which includes monthly payment of 50,000 imprest to teachers in all the primary schools in the Council Area, perimeter fencing, collaboration between the Pan Atlantic University to train students in secondary school in science oriented courses and Arts, scholarships to students in various secondary schools and much more.
The Council Chairman acknowledged that, owing to the present economic realities, the bursary award was increased from 40,000, which it was before to 50,000. He charged them to be good ambassadors and to strive to be the best in life. Hon. Olowa used the moment to also mentor the beneficiaries to prepare for the future by acquiring tech skills and charged them to be highly skilled as it will compliment their degrees to prepare them ahead of future challenges.
The Supervisor for Education, Hon. Temitope Sofwan Ogungbo thanked the Council Chairman for his consistent support in the education support while also charging the students to ensure that they face their studies squarely.
The beneficiaries who were drawn from all parts of Ibeju Lekki Local Government thanked the Council Boss and assured him that they would make the Council proud in their academic pursuits.
